• When do I need progressive lenses?

  If you constantly have to switch between different pairs of glasses (for near and far vision) and are tired of constantly taking them on and off, it’s time for a pair of VIU progressive lenses. With just one pair of glasses, you’ll cover all your vision needs and never lose focus—no matter the distance.

• Will my eyes get used to progressive lenses?

  No. Our glasses simply correct your existing vision problem—nothing more!

  The right pair of glasses won’t make your eyes lazy or cause your vision to deteriorate.

• Where do VIU's glasses come from?

  At VIU, we are committed to uncompromising quality. Our lenses come from Swiss and German manufacturers and are produced by our partners Optiswiss and Optovision. With treatments such as anti-reflective coating, hard coating, and UV protection, we guarantee first-class vision and durability.

• How do I get used to my VIU progressive lenses?

  1. Take it slow

  Take your time getting used to your new glasses and exploring the different vision zones while doing things like reading a book or watching TV. Your familiar surroundings are the best place to do this.

  2. Precise movements

  To ensure your vision is always sharp, move your gaze by moving your head, not just your eyes. This automatically helps you use the correct part of the lens—the upper section for distance, the middle section for intermediate distances, and the lower section for reading.

  3. Do you have any questions?

  At first, your peripheral vision may appear slightly distorted. This is a natural part of the adjustment process and usually subsides within a few days. If you haven’t fully adjusted to your glasses after two weeks, please feel free to contact us. Our team of opticians will ensure that you can get the most out of your VIU glasses.

• How much do VIU progressive lenses cost?

  Our progressive lenses start at €395 / 595 CHF (Classic). We always recommend choosing the Individual Comfort option, starting at €735 / 915 CHF.

  Progressive lens technology replaces at least two pairs of glasses (for distance and near vision) in your daily life. The manufacturing process for progressive lenses is significantly more complex, labor-intensive, and therefore more expensive.

• Quelle est la différence entre les verres « Classic » et « Individual Comfort » ?

  Our Classic lenses offer a reliable standard option with proven visual zones. If you’re looking for maximum comfort, we recommend the “Individual Comfort” option: With this option, the visual zones are tailored with millimeter precision to your individual anatomy and your VIU frame. This provides significantly wider fields of view, minimizes blurriness at the edges, and greatly reduces the adjustment period.

• At what point do progressive lenses make sense?

  You usually start to notice it around age 40, when it becomes harder to focus on nearby objects, you have to hold text farther away, or your eyes tire more quickly. As a general rule, the sooner you decide to get progressive lenses, the faster and easier it will be for your eyes to adjust to the smooth transitions in the lenses.

• Are VIU progressive lenses also available for sunglasses?

  Yes, absolutely! You don't have to sacrifice clear, comfortable vision even on sunny days. All of our custom progressive lens options are also available as progressive sunglasses—for 100% UV protection and crystal-clear outdoor vision.
